They are priced and tracked here, but they are not scored on the nutrient-cost screening board: no dry-matter-basis nutrient coefficient for them was verified against a primary extension or NRC table at build, and this site never guesses a coefficient. Prices are quoted per ton, and the cheapest board price is not the cheapest fed price once freight and moisture are counted (see the FOB-vs-delivered guide). Wet distillers grains are the same corn co-product as DDGS, pulled off the same dry-grind ethanol plants before the dryer and sold wet, at somewhere around two-thirds moisture. Because most of the ton is water, freight economics rule this market in a way they do not for the dried product: WDGS only pays within a short truck haul of its plant, so the market is local and plant-specific rather than national. Feedlots and dairies within range often contract for a steady daily supply, since a plant cannot stockpile wet cake the way it can bagged or bulk DDGS.
